mein schatz hat zu weihnachten einen kindle e-book-reader bekommen und nun musste noch eine passende hülle her, nichts leichter als das!

ich hab ihm eine schlichte graue wollfilz hülle mit einer stickerei genäht
my sweety got a kindle e-book reader for x-mas and now he still needed a matching cover, nothing easier than that!

I have sewn a simple grey woolen felt cover with embroidery for him

 wenn ihr auch auch eine nähen möchtet habe ich hier die passende kostenlose anleitung für euch (bitte nur privat verwenden, danke dafür!)

1. du brauchst 2 stücke wollfilz je 17,5cm hoch und 12,5cm breit, für die tasche 12,5cm hoch, 10,5cm breit oben und 9,5cm breit unten, alle teile inklusive nahtzugaben. verzierung nach belieben, hier zb ein besticktest stoffstück, farblich passendes oder kontrastfarbenes nähgarn. 

in vorder- und rückteil jeweils mittig eine ca. 1,5cm tiefe und 3,5cm breite runde kerbe schneiden.

1. you need 2 pieces woolen felt each 17.5cm high and 12.5cm wide, for the pocket 12.5cm hight, 10.5 cm wide at the top and 9.5cm wide at the bottom, all pieces including seam allowances. embellishments as you like, as here e.g. an embroidered piece of fabric, 

matching or contrast sewing thread.

cut a slot in the centre of the front and back piece, approx. 1.5cm deep and 3.5cm wide.

 

2. so sieht das teil für die tasche aus, oben breiter als unten

2. this is how the pattern of the pocket looks like, at the top wider than at the bottom

 

 

 3. den kindle zwischen die beiden lagen filz legen und mit stecknadeln rechts und links eine ca. 3cm breite öffnung für das ladekabel markieren (tipp: die öffnung ist nicht unbedingt notwendig, da der kindle auch umgekehrt in die hülle gesteckt werden kann und somit zum laden nicht aus der hülle entnommen werden muss, das hat mein freund gleich angemerkt, dass die öffnung nicht unbedingt nötig ist, also kann dieser schritt auch ausgelassen werden :-) )

3. place the kindle between both layers of felt and use pins to mark an approx. 3cm opening at the left and right side of the charging cable (hint: this opening is not neccessarily needed as the kindle can also be placed into the cover upside down and doesn't have to be taken out of the cover for charging, my boyfriend immediately mentioned that the opening is not needed so you can also leave it :-) )

 4. mit stecknadeln die position der tasche auf dem vorderteil markieren: 1,5cm zu allen kanten (rechts, unten und links)

4. mark the position of the front pocket on the front piece with pins: 1.5cm distance to all edges (right, bottom and left)

 

5. die tasche schmalkantig entlang der markierungen aufnähen (tipp: wer möchte kann die obere offene taschenkante vor dem aufnähen noch zur zierde knappkantig absteppen, ich hab das im eifer vergessen ;-) )

5. sew on the pocket with a narrow seam allowance along the mark (hint: if you like you can topstitch the upper pocket edge before sewing on the pocket, I just forgot ;-) )

 

6. die oberen kanten des vorder- und rückteils knappkantig absteppen (tipp: wenn dir das nicht gefällt kannst du die steppung auch weglassen)

6. topstitch the upper edges of the front and back piece in narow distance to the edge (hint: if you don't like it you can also leave it)

 

7. vorder- und rückteil kantengleich aufeinander legen und rechts, unten und links schmalkantig zusammen nähen, dabei in der unteren kante die öffnung für das ladekabel offen lassen (oder gleich zunähen :-) )

7. place the front and back piece on top of each other along the edges and sew together with narrow seam allowance at the right, bottom and left side, leave open the opening at the lower edge for the charging cable (or close it :-) )
